Abstract :
In this paper we propose an optimization method to assign the modulator to each sub-carrier in the OFDM context. We solved the optimization problem using evolutionary programming, a faster solution in comparison to other techniques like dynamic programming. By exploiting the significance of video coded syntax elements, we also show that a joint source coding and transmission design increases the overall communication performance. The experimental results clearly show the advantageous of the two proposed solutions mentioned above.
