Abstract
To construct an energy-efficient wireless home network, novel architecture is proposed. In this architecture, all nodes are classified into stationary nodes and mobile nodes according to the functionality of each node. As for mobile nodes which are usually battery-powered, effective handover sequence based on MAC broadcasting and a transmission power control framework are employed. Experimental results demonstrate that in the proposed architecture, communication time and power consumption of mobile nodes can be reduced by 1.2 sec and 42.8%, respectively.
