Abstract
This project is carried out to improve the productivity and efficiency of a vehicle seat assembly line in a local automotive vehicle part manufacturer. The existing vehicle seat assembly line is studied first using a line balancing and simulation approach. The data collected from the existing line are operating time and processes, material handling system, workstation layout and equipment and bill of materials. A new layout of the assembly line is proposed. The productivity and efficiency comparison of the existing assembly line and the proposed assembly line are also highlighted.
