Abstract :
A variable speed constant frequency (VSCF) doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) system using back-to-back converter for wind turbine is described. Based on analysis of stator flux oriented vector control theory of doubly fed induction generator, a maximal power point track (MPPT) and control strategy for the unity power factor of stator output is explored. The paper also discusses the feasibility and advantage of soft synchronizing of doubly fed induction generator to the grid by using stator voltage control method and soft disconnecting of the generator from the grid. The system implementation and the experimental results are given.
