Abstract :
How the current ATM systems will evolve towards a global air traffic system? We propose global intelligent control mechanisms automating the allocation of resources and the control of traffic flows in dynamic four-dimensional space. The environmental sustainability of airports and the most efficient and the safest air space-time and airport capacity use can be accomplished via integrated operational decision support systems with embedded global intelligent control mechanisms which control the allocation of the global air space-time and the airport resources, monitor four dimensional (4D) end-to-end trajectories of flights, plan traffic flows according to the resources available, provide integrated operational decision support to pilots, controllers, airline and airport operators, synchronize global operations via simultaneous and synchronized communications.
