Abstract
In this paper, an adaptive dead zone inverse is proposed for control of systems containing an unknown dead zone. It is shown that the effect of the unknown dead zone on the closed loop control system can be eliminated asymptotically. Two schemes are proposed along with their convergence proofs. No persistent excitation conditions are required
