Abstract
The migration from 2nd generation (2G) to 3rd generation (3G) mobile systems (e.g., GSM to UMTS) is ongoing in Europe and Asia-Pacific. The 3G operators are deploying new infrastructure to enable mobile Internet services for end users. Ericsson is committed to making this migration as seamless as possible for the operators and end users. This paper describes the building blocks of 3G network infrastructure.
