Abstract :
The author of the paper proposes that the entire range of usable DTV desired signals should be explored, non-invasively to determine the receiver´s robustness to interference from first adjacent channel DTV signals, and DTV signals on 2nd, 3rd, 4th adjacent channels with one undesired signal involved. Here the interference mechanism is primarily cross-modulation a form of 3rd order inter-modulation. In addition, the author proposes tests for true inter-modulation between two undesired DTV signals on those channel pairs known to produce a 3rd order intermodulation product falling in the desired channel.
