Abstract :
Recently, a postprocessor has been proposed in the literature, which removes color bleeding distortion in digital color images by applying filtering operations in the spatial domain. We investigate in this paper the possibility to implement this post-processing scheme in the DCT-domain. We propose an efficient architecture based on a modified version of the algorithm. A method for detecting color defects in the color compressed picture is described, as well as a DCT-domain adaptive filtering architecture. Experimental results are finally shown in order to illustrate the effectiveness of the post-processor.
