Abstract :
In this paper we present BER measurement results using a 1st order compensator with a fixed and a variable delay line and compare with the PSP transmission method. For the fixed delay line we tested compensation efficiency for different DGD values. PSP transmission method was evaluated for different feedback delay times. A PMD emulator forced by pseudo-random fluctuations of temperature was used to generate a random set of PMD vectors. A comparison between the different methods is presented.
