Abstract :
In recent years, as the problem of global environmental protection has been highlighted and the effective use of natural resources has come to be an important theme, research and development of new insulating liquids for application to high-voltage power transformers have been undertaken in Europe and the USA. The results of this research have been reported in detail by CIGRE Working Group. This paper reviews these topics by presenting the insulating liquids´ electrical insulation characteristics to serve as fundamental data for insulation design of electrical power apparatus taking the CIGRE report as basis.
