Abstract :
Identification of performance indicators of the communication solutions applied in the Intelligent Transport system (ITS) was studied within projects CaMNA and SRATVU . Prime goal of the CaMNA project is to improve efficiency and security of the airport over-ground traffic operated in the specific airport area conditions. ITS requirements on the communications environment are usually quantified indirectly by telematics performance indicators. Proposed method is formed on the identification of the transformation matrix which describes relation between communications and telematic performance indicators. Correct matrix identification represents inevitable condition for appropriate selection and configuration of the relevant communication solution. Proposed method applicability is demonstrated on design processes connected with CaMNA pilot project. Positional data are acquired not only from the service vehicles equipped with GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) but also from non-GNSS based already applied A-SMGCS (Advanced Surface Movement Guidance and Control System) armed with ability to identify e.g. position of all aircrafts. Data are collected and centrally processed and together with dispatcher´s decisions data are delivered to every activated service vehicle OBU (On Board Unit). As a final point of this paper are presented results of the communication solution tests processed within CaMNA limited pilot installation as well as the relevant recommendation for consequential R&D.
