Abstract :
This paper describes measurement of the low frequency amplitude and phase response for current signals on a distribution network associated with a 6 MW co-generation plant. The channel includes an LV/MV (240 V/22 kV) distribution transformer. Measurements were made between 100 Hz and 3 kHz and a parametric model is derived. Noise measurements for the channel are also described and the maximum information capacity (Shannon limit) of this "through transformer" channel, when used with practical signal levels, is estimated.
