Abstract :
In recent years, semi-active vibration control using synchronized switching damping on negative capacitance (SSDNC) has been presented. However, the standard SSDNC relies heavily on the external sensors and equipment to control the switches. This paper presents a self-sensing semi-active vibration control method using SSDNC for piezoelectric vibration suppression. The advantage of the new method is no external sensors are required. The piezoelement is used not only as actuator but also sensor. The effectiveness of this method is demonstrated by comparing with self-sensing SSDI (synchronized switching damping on Inductor). Theoretical computation and experimental results show a remarkable effectiveness for vibration suppression.
