Abstract
This paper describes the electromagnetic field simulation using FDTD method with the variable mesh size technique. In this technique, the mesh size is changed dynamically during the simulation. In this method, the mesh size and the time step size are controlled according to the electromagnetic field intensity. The proposed technique can reduce the simulation cost without degradation of accuracy, even if the simulation is done for the input signal including the high frequency factors. Finally, the validity and efficiency of the proposed method are verified by some electromagnetic field simulations for the example boards.
