Abstract :
The present work involves integration of the simulation stage of design of a VLSI circuit chip and its testing stage. SPICE simulator, TEK LV511 ASIC design verification system and TekWAVES, a test program generator for LV511 were integrated. A software interface, in C language, has been developed between SPICE and the testing tools (TekWAVES and LV511). The functionality of the software interface developed is multifold. It takes input from either SPICE 2G.6 or SPICE 3E.1. The output generated by the software interface can be given as input to either TekWAVES or LV511. A graphical user interface has also been developed with OPENWINDOWS using XView toolkit on SUN workstation. The software interface could be easily linked with VLSI design tools such as MAGIC layout editor
