Abstract :
The antenna aperture distributions, described in this paper, are based on suitably chosen bell-shaped functions added to rectangular pedestals of small heights, or high efficiency curved pedestals. The distributions have high aperture efficiencies, and have their antenna patterns with rapidly reducing sidelobe levels, starting from a fixed level of the first (or one of the first few). This paper provides the descriptions of a few sample distributions synthesized, along with their respective pattern characteristics, for comparison with those of other distributions. The paper also includes the description of a powerful computational tool, useful for the synthesis of such distributions, for any other given specification, and for the selection of the requisite parameters for the same
