Abstract
In this paper, a novel CPW-fed antenna is proposed. The antenna is of compact size (19×28mm2) and is printed on FR4. Finger shaped radiator is applied in this antenna. By fine tuning the dimensions of these strips, the proposed configuration is capable to achieve a S11<;-10 dB bandwidth of 2.7GHz-11GHz, which covers the whole FCC proved UWB frequency range. The antenna is fabricated and measured. The measured results agree well with the simulated ones. Omni-directional radiation pattern is also obtained. Conclusion is given that the proposed configuration is very suitable for the application of short-range UWB communication.
