Abstract :
This paper proposes a discretely controlled continuous time system, called generalized switched server (GSS) system, for solving a class of task-balancing problems. The GSS system consists of N tanks. The tank is the abstract of different objects in diverse fields. Tank-pair is a system that consists of two tanks and a conduit connecting them. It employs one SISO controller to control the two tanks to acquire the uniform levels between them under the specified constraints. The tank-pair is the basic scheduling unit in GSS model. According to a quantized observation of N tank levels, the discrete events are generated. Based on the event feedback policy, switching the location of tank-pair can control all the tanks to acquire N-levels balancing. In addition, several server-switching policies, called FMM, FRR, and aMM policy respectively are also presented in this paper
