Abstract :
In this paper, we propose a fuzzy based admission control scheme for packet-switched OFDM cellular networks. The unique features of the scheme are that 1) the scheme is flexible and adaptive, and makes an intelligent decision for connection acceptance by using fuzzy logic; 2) the scheme is proposed for packet-switched cellular networks and takes into account the congestion status at the packet-level when making a decision to accept or reject the connection request; 3) the scheme considers the subcarriers availability when making an admission decision. Extensive simulation results demonstrate that the proposed admission control scheme is able to simultaneously provide satisfactory quality of service to both voice and data users and maintain relative high resource utilization in a dynamic traffic load environment.
