Abstract :
A feasible system error analysis and pattern calibration method for a planar array antennas is proposed. The errors of array elements with mutual coupling effects are rigorously taken into account by using an active element pattern technique. Other statistical errors including T/R modules and beam-forming networks are described with normal distributions. In addition, the mounted errors of array elements are analyzed and the random errors with interconnecting mismatch of all parts and modules are deduced. Finally, the effects of all errors to sidelobe levels (SLLs) of array patterns are discussed, and corresponding array far-fields are calculated. A pattern search algorithm (PSA) is used to correct the existent errors of array system. Numerical results show the proposed method is valid.
