  • Abstract
    MUSIC algorithm based on uniform circular arrays can´t estimate directions of arrival of multiple coherent sources. To solve this problem, this paper presents a new method which firstly transforms uniform circular array to virtual uniform linear array by using phase mode excitation, then constructs a new Hermitian-Toeplitz matrix using partial array elements of the virtual uniform linear array covariance matrix, and forms music spatial spectrum by eigenvalue decomposition of this Hermitian-Toeplitz. The peak values are the directions of arrival of the multiple coherent sources. The computer simulation results show that this algorithm is effective.
