Abstract :
The purpose of this paper is to explain the increasing importance of adequate simulation tools in the design of new high-resolution radar systems for defence purposes. Changing demands on radar performance imply the need for a new scale of representation in simulations. To meet these new demands, the classical macroscopic descriptions no longer provide enough information. The radar chains, as well as the targets and environments, have to be represented on a microscopic scale, allowing for more detail
