Abstract :
Summary from only given. We have generated 50-nm microjoule pulses by the 5th harmonic of a KrF laser. A 248-nm UV pulse generated by frequency tripling of a 745-nm Ti:sapphire laser is temporally multiplexed into 4 pulses with polarization beam splitters and amplified with a KrF 4-pass amplifier by gated gain amplification scheme, in order to extract as much energy and suppress as much amplified spontaneous emission as possible.
