Abstract :
In this article, a simple and printed ultra-wideband (UWB) monopole antenna with band-notched characteristic is presented. The prototype of the proposed antenna is a fan-shaped monopole. By inserting a Z-shaped slot on the radiation element, the 5.5 GHz band-notched characteristic is achieved. Moreover, good radiation patterns and gains within the operating band have been obtained. The detailed design is discussed in this article.
