Abstract :
A compact CPW-fed elliptical-slot ultra wide band (UWB) antenna with dual band-notched features has been proposed. The two band-notches are designed to avoid possible interference with the existing 3.3-3.7GHz band for IEEE802.16 WiMAX, 3.7-4.2GHz band for satellite communication and 5-6GHz for IEEE802.11a WLAN and HIPERLAN/2 WLAN. An elliptical slot is cut on the ground plane and a similar stub is embedded in it as the radiation element. The dual band-notched features are obtained by moving two similar unclosed elliptical ring slots. The simulated and measured results illustrate the proposed antenna has good broadband impedance matching, stable gain and consistent radiation patterns.
