Abstract
Fault diagnosis is vital in the development of electro-mechanical actuators (EMAs). In this paper, the components of electro-mechanical actuators are introduced and several common faults are listed and explained. All the preparing work lay a solid foundation for construction of fault tree. A typical fault tree is built reflecting fault transmission of EMA. Analysis is divided into three aspects: qualitative analysis, quantitative analysis and importance analysis. Final result reveals the weak points in the system and provides great significance for fast fault location and diagnosis of EMAs.
