Abstract :
A prototype system called VENIS (Vehicle Electronic Network integration System) was developed on a military land vehicle which exhibits the versatility of a programmable logic controller, has the performance of a dedicated controller, and was implemented in a distributed architecture. Two laboratory test results show its satisfactory performance. Operational testing of VENIS on the test bed vehicle was also performed. The preliminary results of this application testing have been favorable due to the performance and versatility of the system
