Abstract :
To cope with time-constraint data query in an energy-efficient manner, mechanisms on joint optimization of expense and energy for mobile clients in wireless environments should be provided. We present an intelligent wireless data access scheme called EPGA to address the issue of energy and expense optimization based on public goods auction, in which the shared data items among the mobile clients are seen as public resources. By comparing the utilities that can be received through sending the request message at different time intervals, EPGA can help each client independently make the strategy of sending querying message, so as to save the energy and expense without violating the time-constraint. We conduct the symmetric Nash equilibrium among the clients and compare EPGA with other schemes by experiments. The EPGA approach shows its effectiveness in joint optimization of energy and expense for the mobile clients.
