Abstract
This paper analyses the radiation characteristics of LCX and helical antennas at 900MHz and 2.4GHz band in mine tunnels. The radiation fields of LCX and helical antenna in far-field were calculated and analyzed. The result shows: LCX presents more uniform field distribution than that of the helical antennas; the radiated field from LCX with zigzag slots is more uniform and have wider frequency band than that of LCX with inclined slots; the LCX with zigzag slots is more suitable for mine mobile communications and field coverage underground blind zone.
