            Abstract : 
A tag antenna mountable on a metallic surface is investigated. The tag size is 10.08cm by 4.9cm. Two compact photonic band gap (UCPBG) elements with a ground plane are differentially connected as a radiating unit. By this way, high impedance surface may be realized. While using a larger conductor ground plane, the reader range is around 1.6m.
