Abstract
The upcoming IEEE Standard 802.11s will support wireless mesh framework. The draft of 802.11s introduces a new metric called airtime link metric. This paper analyses the performance of this metric and proposes a new Multi-metric (MM) consisting of the interference and mesh point´s transmitting capability in wireless environment based on residual bandwidth, Frame Delivery Ratio (FDR), and mesh point´s load. We implement our MM based AODV. The simulation results show that the multi-metric proposal achieves significant improvement, becomes more effective and also reaches the target of load balance simultaneously.
