Abstract :
Summary from only given. We designed and built a completely functional optical interconnects using silicon on sapphire (SOS) driver and receiver technology. Operation of high bandwidth and low-power consumption was demonstrated from this system. The second generation of 8 X 8 SOS driver and receiver are currently under testing and fabrication. Multi-gigabits bandwidth operation is expected from such a parallel array interconnects.
