Abstract :
This paper presents a design of a state feedback controller for a synchronous generator connected to an infinite bus. The proposed controller is applied to the state space representation of the power system; such that a subset of the closed-loop poles is assigned to the location of finite zeros while the rest of the poles are assigned arbitrarily. The influence of the proposed controller on the generator dynamics following different types of disturbances is investigated. The obtained simulation results are compared to those of a conventional controller
