Abstract :
Summary from only given. We have demonstrated, what we believe is for the first time, direct diode-pumping of end-pumped vanadate lasers such as Nd:YVO/sub 4/ lasers. Scaling to TEM/sub 00/ mode powers in excess of 20 W is currently being investigated. Results for higher pump powers and for dual end-pumping will be presented.
