  • Abstract
In this paper, we propose a novel noise-robust speech recognition technique using a repetitive phrase such as "Turn on the TV, Turn on the TV" as a speech command to control household appliance apparatus and on-vehicle apparatus. In daily conversation, the use of repetitive phrase with many syllable gives a low appearance ratio, and reduces the incorrect acceptance of a command. Moreover, speech emphasis may be expected by using repetitive phrase because each phrase is not influenced by unexpected noise at same time. In this paper, we propose to use repetitive phrase as speech emphasis. We conduct speech recognition experiment using the speech which are degraded by three kinds of noises: a buzzer, a whistle, and a telephone ring. From this experiment, we proposed method can improve the speech recognition accuracy under the condition of the all noises. Especially, the proposed method improves the speech recognition accuracy (from 25% to 86%) under the condition of the whistle noise.
