  • Abstract
This paper describes the newly developed Cell Finder-2000 with an optimal measurement technology for CDMA cell planning. The Cell Finder-2000 can be used for the CDMA cell planning of an IMT-2000 system as well as a PCS system. Also, the Cell Finder-2000 can be used for the co-site situations of a PCS system and an IMT-2000 system since the current PCS network will be gradually evolved toward the IMT-2000 network and there may be co-site situations of these two different networks. An optimal measurement technology with its new measurement and analysis system has a unique functionality of Ec/Ii (pilot chip energy to the total input power spectral density) prediction as well as RF propagation measurement of multiple sites in an interference environment. To design the optimal CDMA coverage in an existing network or in a newly installed network, interference analysis is important. We introduce a measurement system which can measure multi-site signals and interference, an Ec/Ii prediction model and verify the accuracy of prediction with the actual measured data
