Abstract :
We propose a system using collaborative coding multiple access (CCMA) codes concatenated with block runlength-limited error-control codes (RLL/ECC) which can support multimedia services over UMTS sharing the same radio resource without usage of any extra bandwidth. The performance of the proposed system is evaluated by simulation over a mobile radio channel with and without CCMA codes. The result of this simulation demonstrates that a service provider will be able to offer an additional standard quality service simultaneously with a high quality service without increasing the radio resource at the cost of a slight degradation in the bit error rate performance
