Abstract
Although normal fuzzy sliding mode controllers can reduce the chattering problem in building structure control, there are some problems such as they need the equivalent control and the upper bounds of the uncertainties. In this paper, we use fuzzy logic to approximate the sliding surface for the sliding mode control. The stability of the proposed controller is established. A six-story building prototype equipped with an active mass damper is used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed controller towards the wind-induced vibration.
