Abstract :
Summary from only given. We analyze the possibility of constructing metamaterials with negative /spl epsi/ and /spl mu/ (and, consequently, negative refractive index n) in the visible region. Since the location of the spectral window where the negative index is negative is determined by the resonant frequencies of the split ring resonators (SRRs), we focus in this report on the dependence of this resonant frequencies on the size of the SRRs. The geometrical features of a metallic SRR are shown.
