Abstract
In this paper, the concept of forward scattering cross section (SCS) is proposed to predict the forward scattering of rectangular beams because the classical induced field ratio (IFR) theory isn´t completely appropriate for analysing forward scattering properties of metal beams in metal space frame radomes. The combined field integral equation and moments method are used to deduce and analyse the forward scattering cross section of three-dimensional rectangular beams. The forward scattering properties of metal beams in different parameters are stimulated over broad frequency bands using moments method in conjunction with the asymptotic waveform evaluation technique. Lastly, the results are validated by CST simulation and measurement, which will support the design of metal space frame radomes theoretically.
