            Abstract : 
Smart environments require possibilities to store and analyze large amount of data coming from a diversity of nodes, ranging from sensors to high resolution cameras. The current video monitoring systems store the data streams in files, and they don´t allow searching the content of the internal data, add markers or they can not be synchronized with external events. The presented distributed framework permits to save, search and replay huge amount of heterogeneous data like events and multimedia streams. The proposed storage layer uses document oriented database for data persistency. Large numbers of performance tests are presented using the implemented framework.
