Abstract :
In this paper, the power distribution in the breast and heart model is analyzed during the microwave breast cancer treatment with the incidence of plane wave based on the simulated results by FEKO. Three cases of needle insertion with different diameters are considered to find the best convergence effects on the tumor region. Comparing the simulated results, the conclusion can be drawn that when the direction of needle insertion is parallel with the polarized direction of incident plane wave, and the needle has a relatively larger diameter of 1.6mm, the power convergence on the tumor region has better effects than other cases, and meanwhile the power that reached the heart region is much smaller than that in the breast region, i.e. heart is in good condition.
