  • Abstract
    Service delivery platform (SDP) is a platform which enables the efficient creation, deployment, execution, orchestration and management of services and it can integrate legacy systems easily and flexibly. The next generation of SDP (NGSDP) will be constructed based on service oriented architecture (SOA), and can be integrated with the IP multimedia subsystem (IMS). Besides, NGSDP will be to bridge telecom networks with Web 2.0. No doubt that NGSDP will lead a new era for multimedia services creation and delivery. At the same time, many new concepts are introduced to the development of NGSDP. One of the most enlightening is the concept of cognitive functions. This paper proposes a new intelligent and cognitive SDP model which is a SDP model integrated with the concept of cognitive networks. The new model will help SDP turns to an autonomous platform without unnecessary manual interventions.
