Abstract
This letter analyzes several constraints in a pulse repetition frequency (PRF) design for a spaceborne precipitation radar and introduces the implementation of variable PRF. A technique of beam position agility for a phased array antenna to improve the number of independent samples is proposed also. The performance is thoroughly compared with the solutions obtained without using this method. The results show that the new method can improve the independent samples by 10% with a lower PRF.
