Abstract :
The generation of ultra-short pulse is a crucial technology in UWB wireless application. A novel design algorithm to generate orthogonal UWB shaped impulses is proposed based on the eigenvector of Hermite matrix and Polycycle signal. The power spectral density (PSD) of the proposed orthogonal UWB Polycycle impulses meets the FCC UWB indoor and outdoor spectral mask, furthermore, it has many characteristics in favor of multi-access detection, such as high spectral occupation rate, high auto-correlation and very low cross-correlation. Compared with Gaussian pulse widely adopted by ultra - wideband impulse radio(UWB-IR), simulation results show that the proposed orthogonal UWB Polycycle pulses have a better single path BER performance in PPM-TH UWB system.
