Abstract :
A benchmark system for studying the sinusoidal pulse width modulated D-STATCOM is proposed. A simple multifunction controller is provided to offer DC bus voltage control, power factor correction and AC voltage control. Simulation results are presented and compared to experimental results obtained from a 10 kVA laboratory D-STATCOM. Excellent agreement between simulation and experimental results is obtained, demonstrating the high level of accuracy achieved by the simulation model.
