Abstract :
The effect of non-ideal delay line (DL) along with group delay ripple (GDR) on the performance of the conventional transmitted reference (TR) system has been analyzed recently. In this paper, we demonstrate that a TR pulse cluster (TRPC) structure provides a superior immunity to the effect of GDR than TR schemes. Furthermore, different pulse waveforms have been studied for the GDR effect on the TRPC system performance. According to an autocorrelation-constrained method, we investigate the radar transmit waveforms and find an optimal waveform for the effect of GDR of the DL in the TRPC systems. The performance improvement by using the optimal radar waveform under the GDR effect has been analyzed and proved by the simulation results.
