Abstract :
In mmWave regime, on-off-keying modulation scheme is adapted in the mmWave mirror link in a handheld device due to its low-power characteristics. This paper presents a 60GHz on-off-keying transceiver suitable for wireless communications solution of an mmWave mirror link. This solution achieves bit-error-rate less than 10-12 for 27-1 PRBS of 5 Gbps over 30 cm, and 10 Gbps over 6cm depending on distance while only consuming a DC power of 66mW. It shows record value of energy efficiency per bit, 6.6 pJ/bit up to date.
