Abstract :
Advances in adaptive control theory have been reviving its application to the aircraft control problem. A combination of direct and indirect methods of adaptive control is applied to the pitch rate control system problem in the paper. The scheme used employs integral form adaptive laws. The paper presents the mathematics of the scheme; simulation results (using SIMNON package) for different flight conditions. The scheme offers the advantages of the combined method of adaptive control
